This class action alleges that Kitec® Fittings disintegrate
and fail when they are exposed to water because of a well-known chemical
reaction
called dezincification. As soon as Kitec® Fittings are exposed
to water, the brass in the fitting corrodes, which inevitably leaks,
reduces water flow, and breaks. Kitec® Fittings therefore not only
cause substantial damage after they burst and leak, but also impair
the ability of a home's plumbing system to effectively provide water
to appliances and plumbing fixtures.
